Hi All!
I am going to make this a short post because of a busy week but wanted to let you know I lost another 0.8 lbs during week six adding up to a total of 17.2 lbs for my first 6 weeks! I was hoping for a little better week last week but considering I lost 6.8 lbs in my 3 weeks of travel that is pretty impressive!
Head to MN and ND this week for Vicki's wedding! I am praying that the green dress fits when I get to town on Friday otherwise I may need an emergency tailor job done, but I am fairly confident it will fit just right. I am pretty much back to what I was when I tried it on last. I will take pictures at the wedding on Saturday to show everyone how great I am looking!
Next weigh in will be on Thursday morning in MSP being I will be doing wedding stuff for the weekend so I will let you know what the final tally is before the wedding is here. Congrats in advance to Vicki and Brandon! I can't wait to celebrate with you both on Saturday!

Fremont, Michigan
Good morning everyone!
Today is my last day in Fremont, Michigan. After spending two weeks in this little town I have really fallen in love with this place. Fremont is the home of Gerber baby food and the whole town is centered around this company. There are ~4,000 residents in Fremont and about ~1,000 of them are employed by Gerber. Everyone that I have worked with and met in this town have been wonderful.
We came into this trip thinking that there was going to be nothing to do in this town and that we were going to be bored out of our minds after one day. We were completely wrong. It reminded me of small town ND. Everyone at the front desk at the Harrington Inn knew me by name, the two ladies that worked breakfast at Subway knew exactly what breakfast sandwich I was going to be ordering when I walked in, and the girl at the Koffee Kup had a big smile on her face every time we came in for lunch. We even chatted with the owner of the 33 Main CafĂ© when we had lunch there earlier this week. Everyone has been so nice and we have yet to run into anyone in this town that didn’t have a smile on their face.
On Tuesday morning, my dear friend Barb sent me flowers to the hotel just because. It was a very sweet surprise and I don’t know if I was more excited to get them or if the girl at the front desk was more excited to hand them to me. Thank you again Barb for adding even more cheer to my week.
I am very excited to get home to St Louis today and be done with work travel for a couple of months, but if all of my trips were to places like Fremont I would be ok with having to travel once in a while still. Even though I worked a 15 ½ hour day yesterday I got back to the hotel feeling relaxed and not stressed for the first time on one of my travel trips for my new company. I am still not really liking my job yet but after these last two weeks I am starting to feel better about being with this company. It is all worth it to be near Chris and my family everyday.
To end this post, I just want to wish you all a good weekend. If you ever need to just get away for a few days and don’t want the hustle and bustle of a big city, consider taking a trip to Fremont. You won’t be disappointed. Plus, it is only $6 to see a movie at the theater here in town and $15 for two people to eat at the restaurant at the really nice golf course here so it would be a very inexpensive trip!
Thank you again for supporting me and being patient with me as I adjust to my new job and go through my weight loss journey. I am starting to feel more energized every day! I will post my week 6 results after my weigh in tomorrow!
Love, Bessie

Week 5
Good Morning everyone! I hope everyone had a good week last week and enjoyed the weekend as well.
My week last week was spent in Fremont, MI. As noted in the last post, I had quite the adventure getting here last week with very long airport delays. I was glad to say that my week went rather smoothly other than travel back home on Friday, but I will get to that in a minute. We had a really good week of work for once last week. We have been working with some really great people here in Fremont (home of Gerber Baby Food) and because they were so easy to work with, the latest we had to stay any night last week was 6:30 pm and no working from my hotel room afterwards either.
For my birthday last Monday, we drove to Muskegon, MI and ate at a restaurant right on the East coast of Lake Michigan. Dinner was really good and the three of us girls had a really good time. Even though my birthday started out on an airplane and going to be at the hotel at 4:04 am, it turned out to be a pretty nice day.
On Wednesday night, we ventured over to the local gym as the 1 treadmill at the hotel didn’t work and we didn’t think we would get a good workout on the fan bikes they had there too. We ended up taking a Zumba class at the gym down the road for the night and had a blast. I am very uncoordinated so I probably didn’t get as good of a workout as I would have had I had any dance moves at all, but I still had a lot of fun. If you have never experienced one of these classes, I definitely recommend it. The fun music makes it worth it even if you don’t have dance skills to keep up.
Friday night I made it to Chicago on time only to find out my flight had been canceled. I talked to the lady at the counter of the flight that was scheduled to leave earlier than mine and she hooked me up with a #2 spot on the standby list. A storm ended up rolling through as they got ½ way through boarding the plane so I had to wait another hour to see if I was able to get on the flight, but they were able to get the first 3 people on the list on the plane so I only made it to STL about ½ hr after I was originally scheduled to land. Of course my bag didn’t make it there so after waiting in line for 45 minutes to file a bag claim, my bag was finally delivered to my front door at 4:50 am on Saturday morning. I decided that after my airport adventures in O’Hare I carried on for my trip back to Fremont this week.
I went to my WW meeting on Saturday morning thinking that if I broke even for the week I would consider that a success being there are not a lot of healthy places to eat in Fremont. To my surprise I ended up losing another 2 lbs for the week putting me at a total loss of 16.4 lbs for the past 5 weeks! I was super excited to find out that I still lost and am attributing it to the Zumba class – I will have to attend it again this week!
I finally had an uneventful trip through O’Hare yesterday, making it to Fremont on time last night. This should be my last week of travel for work for a while as long as the schedule doesn’t change. I am looking forward to getting home on Friday and being there for a while. I hope everyone has a good week this week! Thanks again for all of the support through my weight loss journey! I wouldn’t be as successful without all of you cheering me on!
PS – Happy Father’s Day yesterday to all of the wonderful dad’s and grandpa’s out there. I was able to take my dad to breakfast yesterday morning before I flew out and had a great time! Thank you also for the birthday cards and messages. It made my week that much more special!

Week 4 - I have survived one month!!!
June 13th
Good evening everyone! I am writing this post as I sit in the Chicago O’Hare airport on my way (maybe) to Freemont Michigan for work for the week. My flight to Chicago was delayed by 2 hours because of the weather in Chicago so I missed my connection. I was originally scheduled to land at 6:40 pm in Grand Rapids but am now on a flight that is going to be landing at 12:30 am and will still have an hour drive ahead of me. I really hope my luggage makes it otherwise I will be going into work tomorrow wearing my jeans and a MN Twins t-shirt. I guess that wouldn’t be too bad…let me rethink that one :)
I probably won’t be able to post this to the internet till I get to work in the morning so I will update you on flight status at the end of this post to let you know when I got in.
This past week and a half has been very busy. We went to Columbus OH last weekend for M&K’s wedding. It was a great weekend and the wedding was beautiful. It was fun to catch up with some of my Minnesota friends for the weekend as well. We went to the Columbus art fair on Saturday afternoon before the wedding and had a good time there as well. On Friday night I got the itch to buy a scratch off ticket and ended up winning $25 so that paid for our lunch and parking at the art fair.
This past week I was in NJ for work. We only had a week there so we worked some really long hours including a 14 hr day on Thursday. I was really excited to get home for the weekend.
This weekend I went and did my week four weigh in – I lost another four pounds! That brings my total to 14.4 pounds in a month! I am super excited about this! Almost back to what I need to be for the bridesmaid dress so I am very happy about the progress I have made thus far.
I also took my driver’s license test on Saturday morning and am happy to report that I passed with flying colors so I am now officially a resident of IL. My car license plates are on my Prius, my driver’s license says IL and I am now a registered voter in the state. I have really loved living in IL thus far and am glad I made the move to be closer to Chris. He took me to dinner at the Melting Pot on Saturday night for an early birthday dinner being I am out of town this week. Dinner there was amazing as always (I put my diet aside for the night and it was well worth it). He also got me a Sirius satellite radio for my b-day so we listened to 90’s on 9 all the way there and back.
I am not going to lie – it was very hard to leave to go back to the airport again this morning. Gypsy must have known I was leaving again while I was packing my bag because she was following me around everywhere I went and tried to leave the house with me when I was heading out. I am beyond burnt out from the travel but after next week I “should” be home for a couple of months pending the schedule doesn’t change. I have hit the point in my life that the travel for work is no longer part of what I want to do. Unfortunately it is a pretty big part of my job and will have to do it for a while longer. Hopefully when I get more into the IT projects I will be able to stay at home more often as we shouldn’t have to travel as much for that.
Well, that is enough complaining for the night. I am going to watch the end of the Cubs/White Sox game here at the airport bar and hope to get some sleep on the plane tonight so that I am not dragging too much tomorrow morning. Go Cubs!!!
June 14th
Well, after arriving in Fremont at 4 am last night I skipped the first half of the day at work and am finally in for the day. It was 4:04 am when I crawled into bed and was not about to get up and go into work at 7:30 am so I told my team lead I was going to get some sleep. I am feeling much more refreshed now and am ready to go for the afternoon. The girls on my team that are here are going to go to dinner with me somewhere near Lake Michigan for my birthday tonight so that should be fun. It should make my birthday a little better than it started out this morning. I hope everyone has a great day today!

Week 2.5 & 5% body weight loss!!!
Hi all!
I am proud to report that at my weigh in tonight I was down another 2 lbs which gets me to 10.4 lbs in total loss. With this, it also put me over the mark of 5% body weight loss!!! This is a huge deal for me being I have been awful at attempting to lose weight in the past. I am 1/4 of the way in my overall goal and only 2.5 weeks in! I have been told to expect to lose 1-2 lbs a week from here on out.
I do owe everyone an apology from my last post as I promised pictures from our lake trip last weekend. Well, forgetful me left the camera in the bag in the tent all weekend and didn't take any pictures. Hoping to get some from Kim and Bret when they download them from their camera. Gypsy did jump into the lake with her life jacket on, got completely freaked out and did not leave the boat or solid ground the rest of the weekend. We were very proud of how well she behaved for the weekend though. We let her off the leash for 90% of the weekend and she stayed right by us and didn't even attemp to wander off so she got a bully stick when we got back home.
We head to OH tomorrow for M&K's wedding! Should be a good time and I am looking forward to seeing some of my MN friends. It will be a quick weekend as I leave for NJ for work on Sunday for the week but it will be good to get out of town for fun for the weekend instead of work. I have three weeks in a row on the road again but should hopefully be home then for at least 2 months before I have to go on another trip. I do miss my travel team from my last job as we all got along so well, but I am starting to get into the full swing of things at my new gig so hopefully the travel gets better with it too.
My next weigh in won't be until next Saturday as I will be getting back on my Sat weekly schedule so hopefully eating out for the next 3 weeks doesn't derail my progress. I think I have learned enough to keep me close to being in line so I am thinking I will still see some progress!
That is all I can come up with for tonight! Hopefully I am not boring you all with this blog! Thanks again for the continued support through my weight loss journey! I wouldn't be as successful thus far without you all!
