It has been a whirlwind of a month for Chris and me. On Monday we closed on our new house and began moving in. Having things at our apartment and in storage we were all over the place and very busy moving things but finally have everything here so now we are working on unpacking. Once we get settled in, we do have a guest room and would love to have visitors. Chris’ mom and stepdad are in town as of yesterday afternoon and we are enjoying having visitors already. Thank you to all that helped us move and get settled in. It is a work in progress but it already feels like home. We have a LOT of painting to do as the previous owners had a very interesting style when it comes to paint so if anyone enjoys painting we may be having a painting party one of these days.
I also turned my time in at work this past Monday as well. My job was creating me a lot of stress and anxiety and I felt it would be the best decision to just to part ways. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I am starting at a new place on January 3rd as an IT Risk Management Coordinator. It is a pay raise with no travel and much better hours. It sounds like I will be able to use my creativity and make the position to what I want it to be which will be a fun challenge as well. Although I have been down here for 9 months, I have not had a chance to explore and meet very many new friends with the amount of travel I have been doing so I feel like this new place will be a much better fit and will allow me to have a work life balance. I will let you know how it goes but I am very much looking forward to the change.
This Christmas I am very grateful for the wonderful things that have happened over this past year. I am engaged to the man of my dreams and can’t wait to marry him in 2011. God has blessed me with a wonderful family and I pray that we all stay healthy and have a wonderful new year.
I am hoping to get our engagement announcements out this week. I am slacking in that with everything that has been keeping us busy. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Day tomorrow and I am blessed to have you all in my life!
Happy Birthday Jesus!
